Mark initially trained as a historian before retraining in graphics and illustration at Camberwell and St. Martins. He has been working as a freelance commercial artist since leaving college in the early 1990s. Roving through various media, he has worked with printmaking, photocopiers, ink-drawing, carbon paper and acrylic paint before finally sidling into the digital era in 2000. His images are now drawn and composed by hand before being drawn up in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, and delivered via broadband.
A close look at the site will show a fair cross-section of Mark’s clients. He has been represented by illustration and literary agents in London and Amsterdam.
Originally from the plains of East Anglia, he now lives in Stepney, East London, with Amanda, Flora and Harriet, and works from a studio in the Clerkenwell area of the city. When not working he enjoys climbing trips to Scotland, exploring the city, and reading old books.
He has also lectured in Graphics at various establishments across London, and runs the BA Graphic Arts course at Bucks (Buckinghamshire New University). Follow the Graphic Arts course at:
